Artists
The Gallery at King's Corner Cafe prides itself in bringing together arists from around the globe. Each is passionate about the work they create. You'll see work by individuals who have been professional artists for decades, many with fine arts degrees. You'll also see work by new artists who are just beginning to discover their artistic nature. Some have always worked in fiber, others have followed a journey from other media.
The work encompasses landscapes and seascapes, abstract and representational, joyous and somber. Works as small as 3 inches by 5 inches, and as large as 3 feet by 5 feet.
The techniques used are as varied as the subject matter. Some artists layer texture upon texture; others prefer a minimal approach. Many hand-dye or paint their own fabric and then use various surface design techniques to create a sense of depth; others choose to layer fabrics, threads, beads, and found objects.
